Your are the golden oil of comfort and peace, the sweet scent of violet ecstasy. The Chemistry Behind This Friendship
The main chemical components of lavender oil are a-pinene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, cis-ocimene, trans-ocimene, 3-octanone, camphor, linalool, linalyl acetate, caryophyllene, terpinen-4-ol and lavendulyl acetate. Some of these chemical properties may be new to the reader and as with all essential oil it is recommended to not apply directly to the skin but mix with a carier oil like Almond or Jojoba.
Here are Some Ways that You Can Use Lavender and its Oil:
- Add a few drops into your bath by first adding to an epson salt. This will allow the oil to diffuse preventing skin irritation.
- Use the oil in a mist bottle before bedtime on your pillow. All you need is water and, a few drops and some alcohol.
- Apply 3 drops over throat, neck or temples preferably diluted with a carrier oil like jojoba oil or almond oil. This oil is especially recommended for the upper body. The throat and head area respond well to this and this creates a release in the upper chakra areas.
- Add a few drops into your favorite shampoo or cream for an exquisite relaxing hair and skin treatment and scent that will linger through out your day
- Use this scent in a diffuser especially in the bedroom
- Inhale from the bottle for a soothing immediate relaxing effect
- Dry stalks of wild lavender and place a bunch in an area in your home where you want to bring calm- like a bedroom or a lounge room.
